Read about 106-year-old alumna Louise Bracklow in next UNI Today

Louise Bracklow, ’24 2 yr., ’28 B.A., is UNI’s oldest known living alumna at 106 years of age. She spent 52 years as a first-braklowgrade teacher, earned a master’s degree in elementary education from Northwestern University and celebrated the UNI graduation of a niece’s two great-grandchildren. After retiring in 1967, she became a hospital volunteer.

These days, she wears a hearing aid and uses a walker (“It takes me about three minutes to get up,” she quipped), but her mind is sharp and her outlook, sunny. An avid Chicago Cubs fan, Louise got to see her beloved team win the World Series 100 years ago.

You can read the entire story about Louise in the winter Northern Iowa Today as UNI celebrates 100,000 living alumni. Only UNI Alumni Association dues members will receive the next issue.
