 UNI Update
T.C. - Honorary Alumnus!
In January of 1957, Panther surprised fans and entertained the crowd at a basketball game in the West Gym. It was the beginning of a UNI tradition.
The UNI Alumni Association and Athletic Department celebrated TC’s 50th as part of the Men’s Basketball Senior Night on February 24. The Alumni Association presented TC with a lifetime membership and declared him an honorary UNI alumnus. The Athletic Department made special arrangements for his parents, Tom and Cathy Cat, to be on hand for the presentation.
The Alumni Association’s membership program supports alumni and campus initiatives like Homecoming, student and alumni events. T.C. invites one and all to consider becoming a dues member of the Alumni Association. Join now at http://www.unialum.org/membership

Just for Alumni
A symbol of UNI Pride available only to UNI graduates!
The Official Ring of the University of Northern Iowa has been crafted to reflect these qualities. The top of the ring features the UNI Campanile with the University of Northern Iowa and founding date of 1876 around the crown. The Campanile was built in 1926 to commemorate the 50th anniversary of UNI. The four bells, which sound on the hour and quarter hour, are dedicated to the president of the university, the school children of Iowa, the faculty, and UNI students and alumni.
The inside of the ring is inscribed with "LUX," which is taken from the University's seal. LUX, the Latin word for light, has been a part of the University seal since our founding in 1876. It is included as a reminder of UNI's dedication to educating those who will serve as the light of the future.
The Official Ring is a beautiful and dignified way to display your pride everywhere you go. If you would like further information, visit http://www.unialum.org/proserv/ring .
