UNI News - February 2001
Our Newest Alums:Despite the rather unpleasant weather, students came by the dozens to participate in Commencement ceremonies on December 16th. More than 600 additional students now call UNI their alma matter. Congratulations graduates!
Lang Hall Reopens:Lang Hall once again opened its doors to students for the start of spring semester classes. But this semester, instead of seeing warped floor boards and hearing the floor creak with age beneath their feet, students were greeted with a newly renovated building that has been restored to its old glory. Lang Hall, or as it is more affectionately known, Old Aud, is the oldest surviving classroom building on campus, and has hosted a wide range of university departments and activities in its noble one hundred year history. This three-story structure contained fifty classrooms, recitation rooms and offices, a lower level gymnasium for men, plus six large society rooms. Beautifully designed ceilings still exist throughout the building.
Upcoming Alumni Club Events:Several Alumni Club events are scheduled during the month of February. If you are in one of these areas, please join us for fun, food, and reminiscing about the good ol' days at UNI! If you would like more information on one of the following events, please call the Alumni Relations Office at 1-888-UNI-ALUM. We hope to see you there!
