3. Regent Universities Request Funding to Limit Tuition IncreasesAlumni, parents, and friends of the University of Northern Iowa are encouraged to contact state and local legislators in support of UNI’s current request to the Iowa State Legislature for funding. The Board of Regents, State of Iowa, has requested the legislature fund an additional annual state investment of $40 million in the three Regent universities. This funding would allow for stable and moderate tuition increases, growth in enrollment, new academic programs, and salary funding for state-negotiated salary increases. Receiving the $40 million request would allow the universities to keep tuition increases for fall 2005 at four percent. This funding is critical to the success of the three Regent universities. Please visit http://www.legis.state.ia.us for a list of Iowa legislators and their contact information.
