UNI Alumni Association clarifies affinity credit card partnership The UNI Alumni Association released the details of its contract with Bank of America to market the UNI Alumni affinity credit card last month. Contrary to media reports, neither the association nor UNI refused to release the terms to the Board of Regents, State of Iowa. “The university and the Alumni Association responded openly and quickly to the Board’s request. At no time did the Board office request the contract or specific terms of the contract of UNI,” said Mark Jastorff, president and CEO of the UNI Alumni Association. “We worked diligently with our Bank of America account representative to secure release of the contract terms, including information governed by confidentiality covenants. With their cooperation and permission, the UNI Alumni Association released the contract to the university, which in turn, provided a copy to the Board of Regents and posted the contract to the university Web site,” added Jastorff. The affinity credit card is carried by 9,600 alumni and friends, a total that includes 55 students. Annual revenue from the agreement provides nearly one-half of the annual alumni budget for programs and services. The other half is provided by dues membership. UNI Alumni Association has more than 8,000 alumni and student members. You can read more at www.unialum.org UNI shines!
