Alumni & Friends Network

The Alumni & Friends Network is a volunteer program which enables alumni and friends to share their talents with current students and help shape the University's future. Volunteers can identify which areas are of interest to them and how the University could best utilize their talents.

All you need to do is register for the program by filling out our online form and telling us how you would like to help. When opportunities arise which might be of interest to you, the Alumni Association will contact you with detailed information. Below are several ways to participate.

Volunteer to Represent UNI at Community Events

Des Moines Arts Festival in June, College Hill Arts Festival in July, Iowa State Fair in August, other special events throughout the year.

Help UNI Students

Assist with student recruitment, provide internship opportunities, share your expertise with UNI students.

Know of a prospective Panther who might benefit from the UNI experience? Let us know about them, and we’ll make sure to touch base with them about the University of Northern Iowa and what we have to offer.

Assume a Leadership Role

Plan an event for alumni in your area, serve on the Alumni Association’s Board of Directors.

Become a Regional Contact

Serve as a contact for fellow UNI alumni who are new to your area.

Be an Advocate for UNI

Join the Office of Governmental Relations’ grassroots organization UNITE (UNI Together for Education), contact your local legislators to request support for UNI in the Iowa General Assembly.
