Meet the CATS:

The University of Northern Iowa Connecting Alumni to Students (CATS) is the official student volunteer group of the UNI Alumni Association. These members represent dedicated and passionate students whose primary goal is to be the official tradition keepers of the University of Northern Iowa. CATS represent the University of Northern Iowa student body to alumni and friends. CATS create and promote the lasting connections between past, present and future Panthers.

	Name: Connie Hansen Graduation Year: 1989 Major/Minor: Elementary Education Hometown: Cedar Falls, IA Other Campus/Community Involvement: I have worked in the UNI Admissions Office, Advisor for Student Alumni Ambassadors and the Northern Iowa Stars Programs Why is CATS such a great organization? : I love advising the UNI CATS for several reasons. Their enthusiasm to enhance relationships between the alumni and the current student body is amazing. This group of students also has a passion for service to the university and the community we live in. It has been a blast watching them grow through the organization and expand their creativity in the event and programming areas. Each member will definitely be an outstanding alum of UNI.

I hear your 20's are supposed to be confusing 10 years from now, I like to think that I will be at a place in life that I love. Where that place is, I don't know yet. Why is CATS such a great organization?:CATS allows students to network, explore UNI and have positive experiences. A membership in CATS is something I will always look back on fondly. I think that the opportunities I have had here are some of which I would have had no other place.

	Name: Michael Bachman Graduation Year: 2010 Major/Minor: Marketing Hometown: Schleswig, IA Other Campus/Community Involvement: Up 'Til Dawn, Pi Kappa Alpha, Relay for Life, Special Olympics Where do you see yourself in 10 years? : I will be working for Bedloft.com on campuses all over the Midwest and maybe down South at some big universities. I will be an avid donator to the Greek system and the Theta Zeta Pike Chapter. Hopefully I will be married and have a couple kids and will probably live in a small town outside of a city. Why is CATS such a great organization? : CATS helps to build networking skills, and it puts you in the position you will be in, in less than 5 years having to donate back to the University.

It is also a great way to get to know people and begin building your network.

Not sure where I'll be living! Why is CATS such a great organization?: CATS contributes so much to the many events that help UNI Alum stay connected to the University after they leave; we also do some great philanthropic and community events, and we get students in touch with alumni, all while having fun!

Why is CATS such a great organization? : It is a great link to all groups on campus, a great way to get more involved with the university and provides leadership opportunities.

I also hope to be starting a family or already have one! Why is CATS such a great organization? : CATS is an amazing organization because we have a true love for UNI and have many different ways of sharing this with the campus and the Cedar Falls community. We have a great group of people in CATS who work together to promote our great school!

Why is CATS such a great organization? : CATS is a great organization to be involved in because it lets students get to know alumni who love UNI, which in turn makes me love UNI too. Working CATS events is also really fun.
	Name: Brittany Harp Graduation Year: 2010 Major/Minor: Public Relations/ Creative Writing Hometown: Gilbertville, IA Other Campus/Community Involvement: PRSSA & Pride Where do you see yourself in 10 years? : Working as Britney Spears' publicist or head of the whole team I am sure that she has! Why is CATS such a great organization? : CATS has been a great organization for me to get involved with because there is so much networking to be done. The campus (and workplace) are a student's world in college, and in CATS we go beyond that and expand our contacts to the Cedar Valley, the state of Iowa and across the U.S. Public Relations is all about the connections you make with people, for an organization; which is basically what CATS does for both UNI and the UNI Alumni Association.

Why is CATS such a great organization? : CATS is a great way to allow alumni to keep in touch with UNI. One of the best things about UNI is the family friendly atmosphere, and CATS is just another great way to make students and alumni feel at home.

I also hope to have a stable family and our own home. Being happy and having both feet on the ground is the most important thing. Why is CATS such a great organization? : CATS is such a great organization because we get to meet, work, and network with great alumni who have a lot of pride for UNI. It is an organization that also helps us practice our leadership and communication skills which will be important for all of us after college. Being in CATS has allowed me to meet so many great people and is always a lot of fun!

Why is CATS such a great organization? : The people in CATS are amazing.... in CATS you really feel like you know what is going on at UNI.

Why is CATS such a great organization? : CATS enables us to network with UNI's broad and diverse alumni base and see why UNI was such a special place to them, as I embrace UNI as a student and future alumni.

Why is CATS such a great organization? : CATS rocks because it introduces students to what it means to be an alumni. It also gives students the opportunity to interact with alumni and learn how grads are using their degrees in really cool ways.

Why is CATS such a great organization? : CATS is a great organization because of the people. Everyone I have met thus far have all been really amazing, and the things this organization does are really great too!

I also see myself married and starting a family. Why is CATS such a great organization? : CATS is a great organization because it allows current students at UNI to share their experiences with UNI alumni. In return, it gives the alumni an opportunity to share their experiences with students. CATS is a wonderful way to network with people and to build relationships. I enjoy being a member of CATS!

Why is CATS such a great organization? : It allows students to network with alumni as well as get involved on campus and participate in all kinds of volunteer activities.

Why is CATS such a great organization? : CATS is such a great organization because it really connects the students to the alumni of UNI. We are also keepers of traditions here.

Although I do not plan on staying in the Cedar Falls area I will still support UNI in every way that I can! Why is CATS such a great organization? : Through CATS I have truly learned what it means to be a Panther. I have met so many new people that I would not have met if it weren't for CATS and also I have learned many great things about UNI and how great it is to be a Panther!

The experiences I have had with CATS have really changed my life!

Why is CATS such a great organization? : Not only do you get involved with campus activities and UNI alum, you also get a change to grow with a great group of students.

Why is CATS such a great organization? : It is a great networking opportunity and it gives me a chance to give back to the university.
	Name: Sunni Swarbrick Graduation Year: 2008 Major/Minor: LYHS-Program Services Administration/ Tourism Certificate Hometown: Cedar Falls, IA Other Campus/Community Involvement: Teen Trust, Community Foundation of Northeast Iowa, American Humanics, Volunteer Center of the Cedar Valley Where do you see yourself in 10 years? : Happily married with two kids, and working as an executive event planner/coordinator, or the top management level of a Community Foundation/trust agency. Why is CATS such a great organization? : Through my involvement in CATS, I have met a lot of great people, both on campus, and within the community. I have also learned many skills relating to leadership, organization, networking, & communication that I am not only able to utilize now, but I know will be beneficial when I am done with school. One of the best things about this organization, is that the students involved are empowered to make positive change through their involvement with the current university community (students/faculty/staff), and its surrounding communities (local/surrounding alumni). This has been one of my best experiences while I've been in college, and makes me proud to be a Panther!

I also will hopefully be looking for someone to spend the rest of my life with. Why is CATS such a great organization? : CATS is great because we are extremely dedicated to UNI. We try to reach out and share our love of UNI with the other students and alumni. We also make connections between the students of the past and students of the present and help keep UNI's traditions strong.

Why is CATS such a great organization? : CATS has opened up so many doors for me, not only within the alumni community but in the UNI community as well.
	Name: Landon Wood Graduation Year: 2011 Major/Minor: Spanish Education/ Theatre: Performance Emphasis Hometown: Waukon, IA Other Campus/Community Involvement: UNI Varsity Men's Glee Club, UNI Singers, Bartlett Senate, Student's Today Alumni Tomorrow (STAT) Where do you see yourself in 10 years? : Ten years from the present date I hope to be deeply immersed in the realm of the acting community. I desire to live in the Big Apple where I will attempt to make it on the biggest stage of them all: Broadway. If the said career option does not pan out I would utilize my knowledge of the Spanish language as a safety net. Why is CATS such a great organization? : CATS is such an uberly amazing organization because its mission is utterly humble. Many public universities do not attempt to connect current students with its alumni, but UNI has made this effort and it is obvious that the said effort is proving beneficial and also the diversity within the organization is utterly supreme!
